Sunday 12th January 2025 - Wilkes Pools A family outing along the Wilkes Pools track, suitable for all ages, view Victoria Falls, morning tea at the falls. Various options for return depending on fitness, some may return via Dawson Falls. Contact: Jan Fleming 027 418 2429 Friday 24th - Sunday 26th January - Waiinu Beach Those with motorhomes or tents can stay the weekend, others may join for either Saturday or Sunday. Good beach walking options, north to the Waitotara River mouth or south to Ototoka Beach, fishing, biking. Contact: Jan Fleming 027 418 2429 Wednesday 5th February - Club Night Nowells Lakes An easy stroll from the end of Rifle Range Road, view the plantings, and picnic at the lake. 5.30pm onwards. Saturday 8th February - Organ Pipes and Beyond Medium to hard walk. Contact: David Sattler 027 209 9375 Saturday 22nd - Sunday 23rd February - A&P Show weekend We are considering having an information stand, members support will be greatly appreciated. Saturday 1st March - Kapuni Track to the Lodge We will take this opportunity to do a tidy up. May take an alternative track back, i.e. down the Kapuni River. Other options, stay the night at the lodge, or just walk as far as the fitness allows. Wednesday 5th March - Club Night 7.30pm To be advised. Friday 7th - Monday 10th March - Taranaki Anniversary Weekend Our annual weekends to Ohakune have always been in the winter, with little skiing over the last few trips. The idea is to enjoy Ohakune as a summer trip and explore new biking and walking options. Contact: Al Barkla 027 618 9002 Saturday 22nd March - Curtis Falls Again, a trip with options. It would be good to have a pick up option from the plateau, someone wanting a modest walk could walk to the new bridge and meet the others. Although we have had some good growth in membership over the last little while, we have a very small committee and need more people around the table. Those in key positions have been in their roles for a long time. We need new blood on the committee to breathe new life into our club. We |
