Wednesday 5th March - Club Night 7.30pm
David Sattlers Memorabilia Collection
A club night at David and Anne Sattlers, 11 London Street Eltham
Come and look at Davids collection of Egmont National Park memorabilia, old tourist ware and other historic items including mountain paintings with the oldest painting at 156 years old. Leaving the clubrooms at 7pm for the short drive to Eltham, or see you at Davids.

Friday 7th - Monday 10th March - Taranaki Anniversary Weekend
Our annual weekends to Ohakune have always been in the winter, with little skiing over the last few trips. The idea is to enjoy Ohakune as a summer trip and explore new biking and walking options. Will be motorhome based for most, looking at doing the 42nd traverse by e-bike, and the downhill ride from Turoa.

Saturday 22nd March - Curtis Falls
Again, a trip with options. It would be good to have a pick up option from the plateau, someone wanting a modest walk could walk to the new bridge and meet the others.

Wednesday 2nd April - AGM 7.30pm
We are a club with a lengthy history. Although we have had some good growth in membership over the last little while, we have a very small committee and need more people around the table. Those in key positions have been in their roles for a long time. We need new blood on the committee to breathe new life into our club.

Sunday 6th April - New Plymouth Walks
Join Barry Greenbrook for another enjoyable stroll through lesser known walkways in New Plymouth. We will start the morning at 9.30am out east, park on Nevada Drive just down from the Merrilands shopping centre entrance. A bit of a city amble that will include the bush, an historic site, road walking, a school visit, a river track saunter, a climb through an orchard, through suburbia and back to the cars. Some cool views cloud permitting!
Then out to the west where we will admire the volcanic crystals and Mt Taranaki's historic heritage with some tumble downs, a seal or two and a scenic climb and even a log cabin in the mix. The views are breath taking! Cafe lunch somewhere for sure.
Leaving clubrooms 8.30am. Local contact: Jan Fleming 027 418 2429

Saturday 12th April - Tram Tracks Trip
A climb up the south side of Fanthams Peak taking a line up the long rock formations that look like tram/railway tracks from a distance. This is a totally different and more interesting route up the peak than the normal route most people take. Most likely returning the normal route back down.

Sunday 27th April - New Plymouth Mystery Bike Ride
</s></s></s>
Change of plan, Wietze is unable to lead this ride now so maybe we'll make this a ride around the Opunake Trail, open to walkers too, and a cafe lunch after?
Contact: Al Barkla 027 618 9002, trailer available if you need bike transport.

9 of us met at Pukeiti Gardens Sunday 21 January. The objective was to walk to Pukeiti Trig which everyone did, in two groups on different tracks. Wietze, Rae, Kathryn, Dirk and Tara took the bush track while Werner drove Yolanda, Lois and I to the Old Road which was easier terrain on a vehicle track.  We met the others at the seat, then took our separate routes back to Founders cafe where we enjoyed lunch on deck. The easy track took about 30 minutes, the longer track around 50 minutes each way. A lovely walk on a warm somewhat overcast day.
