Ohakune - Taranaki Anniversary weekend

A great trip this weekend, slightly modified from the intended Ruatiti weekend. Based at Ohakune, we took a shuttle to the start of the Mangapurua track, rode through to the Bridge to Nowhere, jet boated out to Pipiriki and then the shuttle back to Ohakune. 36km riding, uphill to start, a stop at the trig to look at the view and the dynamite cave, then on the long downhill all the way to the Bridge. Early lunch stop at Johnsons clearing on the way. A 4 to 6 hour trip done in 4 hours, happy with that. Out of Al, Werner and Wietze, Rae was not the cleanest at the end! Thanks for a great day and help over some of the bridges guys.
Jan and her girls joined us for the evening.
Werner stayed on for more riding Sunday, the rest of us moved on elsewhere.
